MISSION, Kansas, Sept. 5, 2017 –Chase Abbott, vice president of sales for VinSolutions and Dealertrack F&I, has been named to the 2017 Remarketing & Used-Car Industry’s 40 Under 40 class. Awarded by trade publication Auto Remarketing, the distinction honors young professionals taking leadership roles in the auto industry and impacting the remarketing and used-car business.
Abbott has become recognized as a leader in automotive for his refreshing approach to management and his striking commitment to ushering a young, diverse generation into the auto industry. Abbott has built a highly effective, dedicated sales team. Under his leadership, June sales were up nearly 50 percent over 2016.
Abbott’s effective leadership approach is built on the empathy he has for each of his employees and their clients. In his nearly 15 years in the automotive industry, Abbott has held a variety of sales positions, first with a dealership – holding titles including internet director, finance director and general sales manager – and then with VinSolutions.
Abbott said his proudest career accomplishment is the sales team he has played a role in creating at VinSolutions.
“I have been a part of building a highly effective, dedicated sales team – not by focusing on time spent on the phone or in dealerships, but instead on employee engagement and outcomes.”
“For our industry to continue to attract top talent, we must change the conversation about what makes a top performer. Measuring success by the number of hours clocked isn’t sustainable. Instead, we must start focusing on how we can use one-on-one coaching and training to enhance our employees’ development, and, ultimately, our business outcomes.”
Abbott and the rest of this year’s 40 Under 40 class will be honored at Used Car Week, Nov. 13-17, 2017, in Palm Springs, California.
